Horus Heresy boardgame reborn!
The hottest news right now for pre-Heresy fanatics (and a great many others) is Fantasy Flight's announcement of recreating the Horus Heresy boardgame.
You can checkout the full game information at FF's website here.
What excites me most, at least until the game is in my hands, is the inclusion of models and Horus Heresy artwork. Some art seems to have been used from the Sabretooth games Horus Heresy cardgame, or at least heavily inspired by. This image, as far as I can tell, is unique however. Damn fine it is!
Creating pre-Heresy weapons: Mk 1 Bolter
This is a simple tutorial showing you how to create a pre-heresy boltgun using a modern model. The end model reflects those as used by Space Marines in Mark I power armour:

Model copyright Games Workshop
Items required:
A very sharp craft knife
Glue
A regular Space Marine bolt gun
Optional:
Plastic rod or plasticard and a variable sized hole puncher

Maxmini Giant Wolf revisited – Painted Thunderwolf
A quick return to the Maxmini Giant Wolf kit that was previously reviewed here, I got round to painting the model (not base!) in pre-Heresy Space Wolf colours. He's lacking insignia and squad markings, making it looks a little monotone with my choice to do the wolf grey too (oops)!
An enjoyable model to paint overall, but I clearly need some practice doing fur and Canids as a whole. I'm determined to get hold of some bike bases and give this little fellow a proper base.
Modelling the masses – New plastic Skaven
Neil has done a great job in the last couple of weeks, really holding the torch alone for Warhammer Fantasy on this new venture. Lets face it, is a mainly warhammer 30,000 affair at the moment.
We’ve seen the evolution of the humble Clanrat, from Warhammer Fantasy Regiments, through the monkey years, to present day. Neil has covered the tactical and theme options of the new Skaven book in great detail.
