Introducing: Age of the Emperor campaign

In an attempt to keep you all informed of current events and remind myself of what I need to prepare for, ‘Introducing’ aims to shed light onto some of the great events going on in the hobby.

The Age of the Emperor is a series of campaign weekends organised by the Tempus Fugitives. Each weekend focuses on a era in the ancient past of the Warhammer 40,000 universe – from the Great Crusade, through the Heresy and beyond. Two events have come and gone to date – the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy. Both were fantastic weekends, the perfect opportunities to bring out our customised and highly themed armies and fight fellow pre-Heresy gamers.

The next campaign weekend is the Siege of Terra and takes place 15th and 16th May at Warhammer World in Nottingham, UK. As the name suggests, this stage of events covers Horus’ efforts to strike at the heart of the Emperor’s Imperium – Holy Terra.

Preliminary ‘taster’ packs are available, but the full information for the event in pending. Players are very eager to discuss and show off their armies in progress over at the official forums.

I have chosen to field the Horus-siding Dark Mechanicum for the Siege of Terra. A wholly custom codex for these forces is also available at TF. With no official models, the Mechanicum forces are a great army for the aspiring kit basher and sculpter to explore and develop unique models. I hope to share my efforts with you over the next 4 months!
