Salamander boarding Terminators

The first prototype Terminator of an intended 15(!) made his way to the painting table this weekend. I’m toying with the idea of a green-gold plate for the first company – Fire drakes. Currently the paint is more of a metallic green, but rather than blend it all further into gold, I’m hoping to pick out details and freehand patterns in the armour with pure gold.

All the models will be mounted on space hulk looking bases as the whole force is aimed at ship boarding games for various upcoming events. I’ll be doing a bit more research into base ideas after I’m happy with this first model, but for now a bit of CoD flooring did the job.

I intentionally used a chaos power fist for this model as it looks more bestial – something I feel the Salamanders could work into their imagery. The skull on the hand will be painted to look dragon-like.

Nice work, though the metalic green reminds me more of a Sons of Horus armor than a salamander one. Also, I the gold might not stand out on the metallic.

Either way it’s a great pre-heresy terminator, and I’m looking forwards to seeing it with the golden free-hands you had in mind.

Fortunately Sons of Horus terminators were all black 🙂

I’m also looking at the Badab War (original) Salamander colouring – I HAVE to get s tribute in there somehow.

What Is the head from? Is it scratch built or a modified grey knight one? It looks really good!
