Tutorial – cork rocky bases

I’ve been using a simple and quick method for making my multibases lately that has raised a few questions as to what and how, so I thought a quick tutorial would be the best answer.

After using various expensive packaged basing materials and getting caught out when I used it all, I decided to work out my own supply.

I went to B&Q and bought a damaged sack of builder’s sand. It cost a whopping £1 and will last me years.

Kings of War – Centaurs

I’ve been enjoying the fresh and simple approach to fantasy wargaming that Kings of War has provided me for around a year now.  I’ve been slowly tweaking my army collections to take advantage of the forces available in that game, so while my undead are seeing some minor changes and options, my wood elves have been more dramatically impacted.

Hobby Post : Playing with Fire (and painting it)

Neil of Orange here with a hobby update.  I’ve been playing with various fire effects recently, for two different styles.

I did some internet research and found an excellent 2 part tutorial from hot-lead.org, you can find Part 1 and Part 2  here.  I was planning a very traditional fire effect initially so this was perfect and I was even using Reaper minis too.  My Bones kickstarter bundle came with a huge fire elemental and I managed to find a second so I had a pair of the monsters to paint.  These chaps are destined for my Kings of War Forces of Nature army but I sadly wasn’t happy with the translucent red they came in.

Kings of War Hobby Post : Werewolves

Neil of Orange here with my latest hobby post.  I previewed a colour scheme for the Mantic Kings of War Werewolves on the MyWargame facebook page a little while ago and the response was really positive.  I’ve completed the unit based on this and logged the steps for anyone who might benefit.

First a bit of a review of the figure kit for anyone interested in the models themselves.
