I took advantage of a recent sale over at Black Tree Design and bought a selection of Dwarves, Undead and feudal humans. There was a small delay in the order due to the humans being out of stock, but after speaking to them on Facebook, they were happy to switch the product and get the order out to me. They even chucked in an extra blister for the delay!
My Wargame Blog
Over at the Oldhammer in the New World Facebook group, the colonials presented a challenge to paint up 200 points of a new army each calendar month. The points must adhere to 3rd or 4th edition Warhammer. I no longer play either, but I do collect Undead and like an excuse to paint them – so I am going to join in. As the ruleset doesn’t matter to me, I’m going to blog the progress with information for both rulesets for pleasure and thematics – and since I actually use my undead for Kings of War, for that too!
Shapeways kindly reached out and offered me some products to review as I run a fairly large Facebook group for converting 40k models. We’ll be looking at running some form of competition later on.
I asked for a bit of a random selection, thinking some of the moderators could join in the review, but so far only I’ve found time to try the bits out. Said bits include shoulder pads for infantry and for walkers, plus a turret.
StarGrind is a Science Fiction miniature range from Krakon Games. It may well become a game one day, but for now the market is quite full of rulesets, so KG are more than happy to provide new miniatures to play them with.
The “universe” is a typical futuristic galaxy-spanning setting, with humans having ventured beyond Terra (Earth) and discovered that they are very much not alone. Many alien species exist, most with their own interstellar civilisations.
For some reason it took a pint of cider and much deliberation to actually just start typing this blog post. When I haven’t posted in a while I start to ponder how to return. Do I recap all that has happened since I last blogged? A bad idea since I’d spend the day figuring out what all that is. No, let’s just keep it simple, current and relevant.
So at the start of the year I blogged about starting a herd army for Kings of War. I mentioned that I had plans for an Avatar of the Father model, using an unreleased model from Mierce Minatures, Sia. Well after asking nicely, I finally received the model recently and got to work on building and painting it. This post hopefully will review the model and show you how I’ve got it battle ready.
