Iron Hands army planning

With 3 months on the count down, I am very eager to try and tie down my lists for Age of the Emperor. It is a little difficult without the final codex options, but I can begin to outline what options I have with the missions and models available.

There are two types of mission:

  1. Planetstrike
  2. Heavy Assault

Planetstrike is fought as attacker, defender and in doubles and solo for both. That's 4 games, requiring a list for invader and defender.

Bugs in the system!

Well my mojo is back and I intend to get on top of blogging again.

I have been developing a game that works a bit like Play-by-mails, but through web forms and email. This is another hobby I used to invest myself in a lot, but have slipped out of for a few years as most of the games I played dried up. As a web developer and aspiring game designer, this sort of project satiates a few interests at once!

Age of the Emperor – army planning

With the AOTE previews coming out daily, I can't help but get excited and start planning my forces!

Here's my thoughts on the core of the force so far.

Tactical squad
I want 2 missile launchers in my tac squad and my Rogue Trader launchers are a throne to put together, so have made an excuse to buy some of the new kit from ForgeWorld.

Age of the Emperor – The War In Golconda

Yesterday, Ulfhedin unleashed the first draft (teaser) for the AOTE5 campaign pack. This is a series of campaigns that I have both thoroughly loved and hated. Hated because it has utterly inspired me to start new projects. Loved because I saw them through to completion.

Set in the Warhammer 30,000 era, the whole setting grabbed my attention as I am predominantly a 'pre-Heresy' 40k gamer and collector. Taking part in the 5th event is a given.

A little side project – Knight Warden

With news of the fifth instalment of Age of the Emperor, enthusiasm for building (and completing!) my Iron Hands army has been reborn. Hinting to allow players to field 1,000 points of Astartes, backed by 1,500 from another army, suggests a great amount of flexibility and choice. Suffice to say, I am torn about what to take!

I will, assuming the rules get finalised, be bringing this little fellow to the fray:
